What is periodontitis?
Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease. It refers to the soft and hard tissues that surround and support the teeth, gums and bone. In its course, the disease destroys the connection with the gums and reduces the bone.
What are the symptoms of periodontitis?
Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease and for its diagnosis several of the following symptoms coexist:
- bleeding gums
- receding gums
- bone loss/ pockets
- tooth mobility
- displacement of teeth
- tooth loss
